Petting Zoo Party, Farm Party - Poshly Inspired

Being in the south, these petting zoo parties are popping up everywhere. As much as I would ADORE doing one of these, my kids sadly have a birthday smack in the middle of winter. As with everything I do, I believe the invitation sets the tone and allows you to grow from there. From farm party favors, to pig cupcakes. You could even do a fabulous tiered cake using just the colors from the invite. You could also do multi colored cupcakes, and get some cute gingham cupcake wrappers. I love using cowboy hats as party hats. Teal and hot pink are the main colors, but you can add yellows in as well to make it a very colorful and fun party. Gingham is the traditional fabric used here, but you can also go with a bandanna print as well. The possibilities are endless! As for food? Well, fair food of course! Cotton candy, corndogs, etc. Fabulous time!

Nautical Baby Shower - Poshly Inspired

Is there anything more quaint than this preppy, nautical party? The invites set the tone for this fabulous baby shower. Lots of burlap and navy, and baby blue accents with a touch of red.

Sock Hop With DIY Flair

This began my journey into the world of party planning. First off, let me introduce my fabulous twins, Joshua and Julia (Josh and Jules). They turned three in January. I have admittedly gone over the top for each of their parties, which has subsequently prompted people to ask for my services for other parties and showers.

This was their first birthday party. I wanted it to be different and unique. They were born on January 8th, which just happens to be Elvis Presley's birthday as well. Voila! Sock Hop 50's party. Done. So much fun, and so many avenues you could take for decor.

My husband and the twins. This becomes a common theme - him dressing up.
DIY touches: I printed off photos of Elvis, James Dean and Marilyn Monroe. All in black and white, with border colors that matched the theme. Then I got old 45's and also hung them for a fun banner.

I designed and printed the invites myself. (also a common theme - I have a background in graphic design, event planning and photography - win, win!) They were so cute. I photoshopped Jules in as Marilyn Monroe, and Josh in as Elvis. HeHe.

More pics of our banners. The borders were done in black, teal, red, and pink.  I made garlands using string and clothes pins, and then used the remaining pics as table decorations. We even had a record player and played Elvis songs all day. We got plates and huge wall stick ups of Elvises, jukebox, and guitars from Party City. I knew in my head what I wanted, and it actually turned out just right! That NEVER happens!

record player!

I then printed off a DIY Happy Birthday banner using a fun, retro font, and put their names on the back. A super easy project that keeps with the theme. I am huge fan on fonts. It completely sets the tone.

bonus points for finding the babies!

Backside of the banner with their names.

Food: completely 50's diner friendly.
Burgers (sliders)
Mini hotdogs
Mini corndogs,
Fries,
Coke float station.
Cakes were made by Publix.
I also used leftover black and white prints as table decor.

Smash cakes.

An easy theme where the sky is the limit as far as decor. Simple food ideas and easy DIY touches makes it an easy party that looks like a million bucks.
